Advocacy Unified Network (AUN) is a non-governmental organization with a multi-sectional network that informs and mobilizes the policy makers, businesses or corporates and the civil society, in all regions of the world to advance transparent, accountable and democratic policy making, conducive for sustainable development, with inclusion of all the stakeholders for achieving sustainable growth, international peace and security under the Rule of Law. Membership in AUN is open to any member or alternate Member who are in group or individual policy makers, law makers, think-tanks, researchers, business entities, civil society members, activists from democracies worldwide.[3] Currently it consists of approximately 548 members in 48 countries.[4] It was established circa 2016 as a Global Public Policy Research and Advocacy Organization for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. The vision of AUN is "to promotes effective and efficient democratic governance through deeper and more meaningful involvement of the stakeholders in the policy-making process".[5]

The headquarter of AUN is located in The Hague The Netherlands, in proximity to the International Court of Justice, the Hague Academy of International Law and the International Criminal Court.[6]

The most important project of the AUN is the launching of a research and survey initiative in the four neighboring countries of Ukraine for the Ukrainian refugees displaced during the Ukraine-Russia conflict to analyze the actual situation and their requirements, especially of the women and girl child. This International Law and Human Rights Programme of AUN has achieved more than 500 volunteers from Hungary, Romania, Poland and Czech Republic.[7]

AUN's Joint Advocacy for Cooperative initiative focuses on identifying the global challenges for the cooperative movement in the Global South and not only finding solutions to overcome those challenges but to convert them into opportunities.[8] In particular, AUN Members worldwide advocate in favor of increasing public awareness about cooperatives and their contributions to socio‐ economic development, promote the establishment and growth of cooperatives, encourage Governments to establish policies, laws and regulation conducive to the establishment, growth and stability of cooperatives, International Organizations (IOs), especially the development agencies, have a vital role to play to provide support for the development of cooperatives through technical assistance and other development aid instruments. [9]

AUN's International Trade Law initiative for SMEs provides new scopes and opportunities using International frameworks and legal mechanisms supporting the transformation from "sick to skilled" SMEs. With growing industrialization, the incidence of industrial sickness has also been on the rise, especially in the small and medium enterprises. It has become a matter of concern for the investors, shareholders, entrepreneurs, policy makers and the governments also. To combat this failure, it is necessary for countries and organizations to identify revival strategies. And one of the most effective revival strategies can be infusion of international investment with better international regulations and policies.[10]

AUN includes among its membership a concentration of policy makers, law makers, think-tanks, researchers, business entities, civil society members, activists, bureaucrats, former politicians, including past and present Ministers, defense personnel. AUN Press is another arm comprising of a vibrant team of journalists from 48 countries of the world. [11]

AUN is registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce[12] as a Legal entity which is categorized as umbrella bodies and cooperation and advisory bodies".[13]

AUN Membership criteria based on democracy
In order to qualify for full membership the individual or organization must adhere to all of the following criteria:

The members must be from a freely elected Government,
The Government should belong to an internationally recognized State or Group of States. The AUN’s Executive Committee adopts the policy of the United Nations for recognizing States as member States,[14]
the election in their respective countries should be open to more than one party, or to those who have no party,
